School Grounds Day

The weather was very kind to us today and we’ve all had a fantastic day.

Our job this year was to renovate the old bug hotel (which some of the class helped make two years ago) and build a new one.

We started with a Science experiment to try and prove what sort of conditions bugs enjoy the most. We placed overturned bowls around the school grounds in various locations and came back to them at the end of the day to see how many bugs had already moved in.

We then split into teams with one team renovating the old bug hotel and the other one building a new one. The new hotel has been built in the top corner of the field above the play trail.

We then did some watercolour paintings to do with bugs. We ended the day by going back to our experiment to see if any bugs had moved in.

Here are some pictures of our day.

Our Easter homework is: Reading comprehension and an Arithmetic Test, both due on Wednesday 26th April 2017.

Education City, again due on Wednesday 26th April.2017.

The children will need to revise the spellings they have had this term for a test on the Tuesday we come back too. They should have brought a sheet of these home with them, but if not they are here (the children know which group they need to learn):

Mrs Rorke Spring Term revision Mrs Davies Spring Term

The children should also be reading regularly over the holidays either to an adult, or discussing their book with an adult.

Thank you for your continued support with the children’s learning, have a restful break and we will see you all on Tuesday 25th April.
